I met up with Dave and Aaron after the ceremony and we walked back to the car. I dozed a bit on the way home but I felt pretty good. I took a shower and unpacked the stuff I would need for morning. Then I sat and talked with them for a bit before I climbed into bed.
Monday morning I was up at 4:00 AM as usual. I felt amazing! No blisters. No pain. Not even tired. I had to be careful not to sit still for too long or my quads would stiffen up but even that was gone by lunch time.
Other than some wonderful memories, an SD card of pictures and a hamper full of dirty laundry, you would never know how I'd spent my weekend. It amazes me that, at my age, my body recovers so quickly from something as strenuous as walking 60 miles in 3 days.
I want to thank everyone who donated in my behalf. Your generosity made it possible for me to be a part of this incredible journey. More importantly, you have helped in the fight against breast cancer which will make such a difference in the lives of so many, many people. I also want to thank Dave and Aaron for everything they've done to make it possible for me to participate again this year.
Now, on to the next!!!
